Trending today: a New York Times report finds that the nation’s best-performing schools are run by the U.S. Department of Defense. DOD schools have test scores higher than every state – and unlike every state, DOD schools didn’t see test scores drop in the last 10 years. (Hooray for central planning? Ehh, maybe or maybe not – but hooray for a system that actually supports and funds and cares about its schools, at least.)
