Every Wednesday morning, Chapel Hill Public Library director Susan Brown joins 97.9 The Hill’s Aaron Keck for “Talking Books,” a weekly segment of book recommendations, of all genres and for all ages. (Susan also heads up Chapel Hill’s Community Arts and Culture department, so they’ll often talk about upcoming festivals and other cultural events as well.)

It’s National Library Week, and there’s a lot going on in town – from an exciting open-mic poetry night on Thursday evening to a second identical Susan Brown who may or may not also be living in Chapel Hill. In honor of the week, Susan and Aaron recommend books about libraries and books – including some that spark a conversation about the (spotty) political history of libraries in general.
