North Carolina Republicans are poised to enact a 12-week abortion ban. Do North Carolinians support it – and does it even matter? Tom and Aaron discuss recent surveys showing residents generally don’t want tighter abortion restrictions, as well as a recent State Supreme Court decision that may allow the GOP to remain in control of the legislature even if there’s a voter backlash in 2024. Also: a new national survey shows surprisingly poor numbers for Joe Biden, but it’s likely an outlier given the results we’re seeing from other recent polls. (Your periodic reminder: news coverage always focuses on the unusual and skips the ordinary and routine, but when it comes to polls, you want to ignore the unusual and focus on the ordinary.)
