Last week, a New York grand jury indicted former president Donald Trump, and on Tuesday he’s expected to arrive in town for his arraignment. How should we understand these historically unprecedented developments, both legally and politically? Aaron is joined by Michael Gerhardt, a UNC law professor whose research focuses on constitutional law as well as presidential history and impeachments. They discuss the historical context, comparisons with similar cases in the past (John Edwards!), and how you can tell when a prosecution is, and is not, politically motivated.
