The Public School Forum of North Carolina has just released its annual “Local School Finance Study,” comparing local education spending across the state’s 100 counties.

The study always shows a big disparity between the state’s wealthiest and poorest counties, and this year is no exception; in fact this year’s study shows that gap only continuing to grow. Aaron chats with Lauren Fox, the Public School Forum’s senior director of policy and research, about the data, what it means for students’ experience and opportunities in the classroom, and what can be done on the state level to improve the situation.
