You don’t typically think of healthcare organizations when you think of the housing issue – but access to safe, stable, and affordable housing is actually a major factor when it comes to health: people often forgo basic healthcare in order to pay for housing, and a lack of housing can create or exacerbate physical and mental health issues for adults and kids alike.
Alliance Health has teamed up with Orange County on a variety of housing initiatives – including a forum on low-barrier housing options, plus a transitional housing facility called Wonderful House. Aaron welcomes Ann Oshel of Alliance Health and Orange County housing director Blake Rosser to the studio, to discuss those initiatives as well as the broader housing issue in general – and how it relates to health and healthcare.
