Tuesday, November 12, UNC historian and former CPH director Lloyd Kramer will be at Flyleaf Books, discussing his latest book “Traveling to Unknown Places,” which examines French & American writers in the 19th century who wrote about their foreign travels – and how that experience shaped their sense of personal (and national) identity.
The free talk begins at 6:00 p.m., but Kramer will be signing copies of the book beginning at 5:30. Click here for more information.
Aaron welcomed Lloyd Kramer to the studio for this month’s round of “Oh, the Humanities,” to discuss the book, what initially sparked his interest in the topic, the individuals whose lives and journeys he chronicled, and the relevance of the topic for today.
