OC Joint School Board Meeting Focuses on COVID-19 Toll on Students, Staff

Orange County Schools District Aligns Mask Changes With County Measures

While Governor Roy Cooper is encouraging counties and school districts to lift their mask mandates, Orange County leaders are keeping their mandate in place for the time being. The Orange County Board of Education voted Monday to move to optional masking for all students 72 hours after the local mask mandate expires in Orange County.

Orange County School Board Unanimously Keeps Challenged Books in Libraries

The Orange County Board of Education recently held a special meeting to consider an appeal by a parent of the decision to keep three books in the Cedar Ridge High School library. The Orange County Board of Education chose to uphold the previous decisions saying these books have a place in the county’s high school libraries.
