Elizabeth Scotty, who wrapped up her five-year college career with the UNC women’s tennis program earlier this month, will join the Tennessee women’s tennis team as an assistant coach next season.

“Elizabeth Scotty is arguably one of the best to ever play at North Carolina,” said UNC head coach Brian Kalbas. “She has won eight national championships during her tenure at UNC. However, what separates her from anyone else is that she is a much better person than a tennis player… We are so happy for Scotty to be in the coaching profession and wish her all the best.”

In five seasons in Chapel Hill, Scotty posted an 83-16 record in singles and a 73-16 record in doubles. She won the 2023 NCAA team title, the 2021 NCAA doubles title with Makenna Jones, four ITA National Team Indoor titles, the 2021 ITA Fall National Doubles title with Fiona Crawley, and two ACC Tournament titles.

“I have a great amount of respect for Brian Kalbas and his teams,” said Tennessee head coach Alison Ojeda. “When he called about Scotty, I was thrilled. She is going to bring a wealth of experience with her as she becomes a Lady Vol!”
