Five different players scored in double figures for the UNC women’s basketball team on Thursday, as the Tar Heels put together a dominant performance in an 83-49 win over the UCLA Bruins.
The game was the first of three games in three days for UNC, which is in the U.S. Virgin Islands participating in the Paradise Jam event.
Sophomore forward Janelle Bailey led the way with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while guards Paris Kea and Stephanie Watts contributed 15 and 14 respectively.
Other Tar Heels to reach double figures were Shayla Bennett (13 points) and Taylor Koenen (12 points).
UNC (4-1) built a 14-point lead by halftime in a game where it held UCLA (3-2) to just 26 percent shooting from the field.
At one point in the fourth quarter, the Tar Heels led by as many as 41.
