The UNC volleyball team came up just short in its regular season finale on Friday in Blacksburg, losing 3-2 (21-25, 25-23, 9-25, 25-23, 11-15) to the Virginia Tech Hokies.

Lauren Harrison was the Tar Heels’ top offensive performer with 16 kills, followed by Destiny Cox with 13 and Skyy Howard with 10.

Hitting percentage proved to be the defining statistic of the match, as the Hokies (11-20, 4-14 ACC) posted a .250 mark in that category while holding the Tar Heels (15-13, 12-6 ACC) to a .095 mark.

UNC fought hard to win the second and fourth sets, however the Hokies were the much stronger team in each of the other three sets–winning each of them by at least four points.
