The UNC football team is up to No. 17 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings released on Tuesday night.

Carolina moved up four spots in the rankings following a dominant victory on Homecoming weekend over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 48-20.

UNC is joined in the rankings by Atlantic Coast Conference peers Clemons (No. 2), Louisville (No. 6), Virginia Tech (No. 14) and Florida State (No. 18).

The Tar Heels are ranked No. 15 in the latest Associated Press Top 25.

UNC is 7-2 on the season with an opening season loss to Georgia and a loss in Kenan Stadium to Virginia Tech in the middle of Hurricane Matthew.

Carolina travels to Durham on Thursday night to take on the Duke Blue Devils in another ACC contest.
