UNC safety Myles Wolfolk (11) has been racking up the awards this week after a fantastic performance in the Tar Heels’ season-opening win over South Carolina.

Athlon Sports released its list of college football awards for Week One on Tuesday, with UNC safety Myles Wolfolk getting the nod as the National Defensive Player of the Week following the Tar Heels’ 24-20 victory over South Carolina this past Saturday.

Wolfolk picked off two passes from Gamecocks’ quarterback Jake Bentley in the final minutes of action, helping put the final touches on the UNC victory. He also recorded six tackles in the game.

The junior was also named the ACC Defensive Back of the Week for his efforts, and was a member of the Pro Football Focus Team of the Week.
