HOUSTON, Texas—  The accolades just keep coming for many members of Carolina’s football team. On Monday, senior Tar Heel tackle James Hurst was named to the 44th Annual Rotary Lombardi Award Official Watch List.

The Rotary Club of Houston gives the Lombardi Award to the nation’s best college lineman or linebacker each year.

Anchoring the Tar Heel offensive line since the second week of his true freshman season, Hurst is loaded with recognition for his play. A first-team All-ACC team member in 2012, Hurst is a preseason third-team All-America and first-team All-ACC selection by Phil Steele and is predicted as a second-team All-America team member by Sporting News.

The candidates earned a spot on the watch list by earning All-American honors last season, being selected to their all-conference first teams last season, being projected to be an All-American or first-team all-conference player this season, or by nomination approved by the nominations committee.

On Tuesday, the watch list for the Biletnikoff Award, presented to the nation’s most outstanding college receiver, will be announced.
