The UNC men’s basketball team is set for its final non-conference test of the season on Monday night when the Tar Heels will welcome in UNC – Greensboro.

This will be the first game back in action for the Tar Heels and the Spartans coming off of holiday break.

Carolina last played on Monday night in a 94-70 win over Appalachian State and players returned for practice on Saturday night, according to the university.

Number seven UNC is looking for victory number 11 of the season against UNCG. The Spartans are led by head coach Wes Miller, who played for the Tar Heels in the mid-2000s. Miller’s former Carolina teammate Jackie Manuel is an assistant for UNCG.

This marks the third meeting between the Tar Heels and the Spartans, all coming in the last three years.

The Spartans are coming into Monday night’s matchup with a 4-8 record having lost three consecutive road games to in-state opponents – Wake Forest, Elon and NC State.
