UNC received some good news on the men’s basketball recruiting trail on Wednesday, as four-star guard D’Marco Dunn announced his intentions to play for head coach Roy Williams and the Tar Heels at the collegiate level.
Dunn–who stands 6-foot-4–is currently a senior at Westover High School in Fayetteville. He becomes the second player to join UNC’s Class of 2021, alongside forward Dontrez Styles from Kinston.
This was quite the unusual recruitment due to the restrictions put in place by the pandemic, as Dunn committed to the Tar Heels despite coaches being unable to meet or watch his games in person.
Williams offered Dunn a scholarship back in May after a couple of phone conversations and some time watching film.
Dunn is currently ranked as the No. 79 overall player in the Class of 2021 by 24/7 Sports, and the 16th-ranked player at his position.
He chose the Tar Heels over Arizona, Clemson, Georgia, Louisville, Texas, and Vanderbilt.
