After playing well all weekend long, UNC women’s tennis freshman Anika Yarlagadda came up short on Sunday in the final match of the Blue Draw at the Women’s Collegiate Invitational at Pepperdine University in Malibu.
Yarlagadda lost in three sets (7-6 (5), 3-6, 1-0 (5)) to Pepperdine’s Lisa Zaar, costing her what would have been her first collegiate tournament title.
To get to the final, Yarlagadda defeated Florida State’s Nandini Das on Thursday, Duke’s Hannah Zhou on Friday and Tereze Kolarova of Arizona State on Saturday.
