CHAPEL HILL– Tar Heel legend Eric Montross is now an ACC Legend.

Earlier this week, the two-time All-American and member of the 1993 National Championship team was named to the 2014 ACC Men’s Basketball Legends Class.

Montross is joined by FSU’s Al Thornton, UVA’s Terry Holland, and Syracuse’s Dave Bing in this year’s class.

While at Carolina, Montross was a powerful inside force for coach Dean Smith’s Tar Heels. In his time at UNC, the team made two Final Fours and won a national championship over Michigan.

Drafted in the first round by the Boston Celtics in the 1994 NBA Draft, he played eight seasons in the NBA with numerous teams.

Montross still plays an active part in UNC Athletics. He currently serves as an analyst on the Tar Heels Sports Radio Network alongside the Voice of the Tar Heels, Jones Angell.

The 15 new ACC Legends will be honored at the 2014 ACC Tournament and the ACC Legends Brunch in March.
