The U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association released its men’s Preseason All-American teams earlier this week, with a total of six Tar Heels making the cut.
Senior attacker Chris Gray–a transfer from Boston University who led UNC with a whopping 27 goals and 21 assists in just seven games last season–was named a Preseason First Team selection.
Junior defender Will Bowen and junior goalkeeper Caton Johnson each earned Third Team honors, while midfielders Justin Anderson, Tanner Cook and Connor Maher were recognized as honorable mentions.
The Tar Heels were recently ranked No. 4 in the Inside Lacrosse Preseason rankings, as they get set to open their 2021 season next month. A schedule is still being finalized.
When the 2020 season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, UNC was undefeated at 7-0.
