Four different players scored at least three goals for the 10th-ranked UNC men’s lacrosse team on Saturday afternoon at Dorrance Field, leading the Tar Heels to a 19-6 victory over Colgate in their regular season opener.

Junior Chris Gray led all scorers with four goals for the Tar Heels in his first game with the team since transferring from Boston University, while William Perry, Justin Anderson and Nicky Solomon each racked up hat tricks of their own.

UNC (1-0) built a commanding 14-1 lead by halftime, allowing head coach Joe Breschi to give playing time to a large portion of the roster.

For the game, the Tar Heels peppered the net with a whopping 31 shots on goal.

UNC will look to improve to 2-0 next weekend when it hosts Mercer at noon.
