The UNC men’s basketball team will play Ohio State this season on Dec. 19 as part of the CBS Sports Classic, which was moved from Las Vegas to Cleveland due to issues relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This will mark the second consecutive season that the Tar Heels and Buckeyes have met on the hardwood, with Ohio State taking a 74-49 victory last year in Chapel Hill.

UNC leads the all-time series 11-2, however, including a pair of victories in 2014 and 2017 as part of the CBS Sports Classic–a four-team event which has included the Tar Heels, Ohio State, UCLA and Kentucky each year since its inception in 2014.

All four schools included are expected to be among the top 25 rankings when the season officially begins on Nov. 25.

The Tar Heels are also scheduled to compete in this year’s Maui Invitational–which was moved to Asheville–from Nov. 30-Dec. 2.

Most of the schedule has yet to be confirmed, though, despite practices having already started and the beginning of the season less than a month away.
