UNC men’s basketball head coach Roy Williams announced Monday at his press conference that sophomore forward Sterling Manley will miss his third consecutive game due to soreness in his left knee.
The 12th-ranked Tar Heels are scheduled to travel to Raleigh on Tuesday for a top-15 rivalry showdown against the No. 15 NC State Wolfpack.
Manley–a 6-foot-11 native of Pickerington, Ohio–has averaged 4.4 points and 4.3 rebounds off the bench for UNC in the 12 games he has played in this season.
His size off the bench also allows the Tar Heels to be one of the nation’s best rebounding teams.
Entering this week, UNC ranked second in the country in rebound margin–pulling down an average of 12.2 more rebounds per game than its opponents.
In two games without Manley, however, the Tar Heels have averaged a rebounding advantage of just 6.5 per game.
