CHAPEL HILL – Spring football practice concludes on Saturday when the Tar Heels hit the field at Kenan Stadium for the 2013 Spring Game.
All the talk leading up to the game has been about the new jerseys Carolina will unveil. If the new end zone paint job is any indication, there may be some kind of argyle theme incorporated.
This is the second spring game for the head coach, Larry Fedora. He’s keeping the same slogan going: smart, fast, and physical.
Saturday’s event is for the fans. It all kicks off at 12:45 p.m. when players will be available for autographs near gate three. Special recognitions will be made during the four-quarter, running clock scrimmage as well. During the first quarter, Giovani Bernard will be presented with the CFPA (College Football Performance) Award for top punt returner in the county. In the third quarter, Jeff Saturday will be recognized for his accomplishments during his 14-year professional career.
Game time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Kenan Stadium. Admission is free. And, if you can’t make it out to the game, all the action will be available on ESPN3.
