GREENSBORO– UNC women’s basketball player Marion Jones, a member of the 1994 National Championship team, will represent Carolina in the 10th annual class of ACC Women’s Basketball Legends.
The honorees will be recognized at the 2014 ACC Women’s Basketball Tournament in March, it was announced on Thursday.
A world-class athlete, Jones is widely considered one of the best to ever compete in a Carolina uniform. She was a six-time All-American in track and field and assisted in guiding the Tar Heels to a national championship and three ACC titles in basketball.
At the close of her career, Jones was third all-time at UNC in steals and scoring average,
A journalism and mass communications major at UNC, Jones lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband and three children.
