CHAPEL HILL– The 10-6 Carolina men’s basketball team, losers of three straight ACC games, will look to earn their first conference victory Saturday at 12 p.m. in the Dean Smith Center when they take on the 5-12 Boston College Eagles.
Carolina comes into the contest following a week away from action following a lopsided defeat at the hands of Syracuse last Saturday. Boston College is coming off a loss at home to the very same Syracuse squad.
In what many are billing as a must-win game, the Tar Heels will carry a 10-5 all-time series lead into the Chapel Hill encounter with the Eagles.
Marcus Paige says Carolina will need to play with a greater sense of urgency to garner a win. Carolina could also use a stronger performance from the guard who has cooled off in ACC play.
Head Coach Roy Williams has said this week his team needs to produce more “old-fashioned” three-point plays by finishing inside when fouled.
The Tar Heels will attempt to avoid their first ever 0-4 start in the ACC. The game will be nationally televised by ESPN and WCHL’s game day coverage begins at 10:30 a.m. with Countdown to Tipoff.
