Though the UNC men’s soccer team tied its season-high with 18 shots Tuesday night against UNC-Wilmington, the Tar Heels couldn’t find the back of the net in a 0-0 tie with the Seahawks.

The result is the team’s second draw in a row, after a 1-1 tie with No. 5 Duke last Friday night. The Tar Heels have had tough go of it offensively since a 2-0 start to the season. In its last five matches, Carolina has scored just three goals. The team is 1-2-2 in those five matches, four of which have come at Dorrance Field.

The team’s overall record on the year is 3-2-2, with a 0-1-1 mark in conference play. Carolina’s next two matches are perhaps its toughest of the entire year: a visit to defending ACC Tournament champion Notre Dame Saturday night, and then a home date with defending national champion Clemson next Friday. UNC defeated Notre Dame in Chapel Hill last season, but fell to the Tigers in the ACC Tournament. The match with the Fighting Irish will be available on ACC Network Extra, and the match with Clemson will be on ACC Network.
