The UNC men’s soccer program has announced its schedule for the 2026 regular season. The Tar Heels are looking to build off a 2025 season which saw them reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

UNC begins the year with a pair of exhibition matches, with the first coming against Liberty at Dorrance Field Sunday, Aug. 9 at 7:30 p.m. The second exhibition sees the Tar Heels visit Maryland, which ended Carolina’s 2025 season in a penalty shootout in the NCAA Tournament.

The regular season begins with consecutive road matches, with UNC visiting Georgetown in Washington, D.C. the night of Thursday, Aug. 20. The Hoyas reached the national quarterfinals last season. Carolina then travels south to Memphis, which will host the Tar Heels Monday, Aug. 24. UNC will host VCU at Dorrance Field for its home opener Aug. 28 at 7:30 p.m. before quickly pivoting to ACC play a west-coast doubleheader at Cal (Sep. 6) and Stanford (Sep. 11).

Other notable ACC fixtures include matchups with traditional league powers Clemson (Sep. 19) and Notre Dame (Oct. 10) in Chapel Hill and road tests at Pittsburgh (Oct. 16) and Duke (Oct. 23). UNC ends the season with a highly anticipated matchup against 2025 national runners-up NC State the night of Oct. 30.
