The UNC football team will get its 2022 season underway Saturday night in Kenan Stadium, hosting Florida A&M at 8 p.m. The game is part of “Week Zero” around college football, when a select few teams open the season a week earlier than usual. The game will also feature a celebration of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), of which Florida A&M is a part. Both the Tar Heels and Rattlers will have HBCU legends as honorary captains, and Florida A&M’s famous “Marching 100” band will perform with the Marching Tar Heels before the game and at halftime. UNC head coach Mack Brown called the Marching 100 “one of the best bands ever.”

If you’re not going to Kenan Stadium for the game, here’s how to follow along at home:

Broadcast Schedule

Those hoping to listen on the radio with Jones Angell on the call can do so at 97.9 FM and 1360 AM, or by streaming the radio broadcast on Chapelboro.com.

97.9 The Hill’s radio coverage of the game will begin at 5 p.m. with Inside Carolina Live.

At 7 p.m., the broadcast will shift over to Jones Angell and the Tar Heel Sports Network for their pregame coverage until kickoff. They will also carry postgame coverage for approximately 90 minutes after the conclusion of the game.

Per college football broadcast restrictions, you can access the stream (computer, tablet or phone) through Chapelboro.com, TuneIN or most streaming apps, but you must be within 75 miles of Chapel Hill and have your location services for your device turned on.  This 75-mile rule applies only to Tar Heel Sports Network pre-game, game, and post-game broadcasts (one hour before kickoff until one and a half hours after the game ends).

TV Schedule

Television coverage of the game begins at 8 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ACC Network. As of today, Spectrum, AT&T, Xfinity, Dish and DirecTV all carry the ACC Network and ESPN.

What if I don’t have cable?

A live stream will be available on ESPN’s digital platforms.

Additionally, several cord-cutting options carry ESPN and the ACC Network.

YouTube TV prices at $65/month and carries all of ESPN’s channels (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, etc.).

Hulu TV also goes for $70/month and includes all ESPN channels, but does not carry MLB Network, NBA TV or NFL Red Zone.

Sling TV is the cheapest at $46/month for the Orange + Sports Extra package. Make sure to avoid Sling Blue, as that package does not carry ESPN.
