Postseason baseball is coming back to the Bosh.

The Diamond Heels were named as the No. 5 overall seed in the NCAA Baseball Tournament Monday, guaranteeing at least a regional at Boshamer Stadium. The regional will be contested from Friday, May 30 through Sunday, June 1, with a potential game scheduled for Monday, June 2.

Joining UNC in the Chapel Hill Regional are No. 2 seed Oklahoma, No. 3 seed Nebraska and No. 4 seed Holy Cross. The Sooners (35-20) earned an at-large bid out of the SEC, while Nebraska (32-27) and Holy Cross (31-25) won the Big Ten and Patriot League Tournament titles, respectively. UNC’s opening game against Holy Cross is scheduled for Friday at 12 p.m.

Carolina enters the NCAA Tournament with a 42-12 overall record, having won its ninth ACC Tournament title Sunday in Durham. UNC is also 25-6 at home.

Ahead of UNC in the national bracket are No. 1 overall seed Vanderbilt, No. 2 Texas, No. 3 Arkansas and No. 4 Auburn. No. 6 LSU, No. 7 Georgia and No. 8 Oregon State round out the Top 8. The other national seeds are No. 9 Florida State, No. 10 Ole Miss, No. 11 Clemson, No. 12 Oregon, No. 13 Coastal Carolina, No. 14 Tennessee, No. 15 UCLA and No. 16 Southern Miss. Unseeded teams representing the ACC are NC State (Auburn Regional), Georgia Tech (Ole Miss Regional), Louisville (Vanderbilt Regional), Miami (Southern Miss Regional), Duke (Georgia Regional) and Wake Forest (Tennessee Regional).

If UNC advances out of its regional into the Super Regional round and seeding holds, Carolina would host No. 12 overall seed Oregon out of the Big Ten at Boshamer Stadium the weekend of June 6-8.

This is the second straight season, 13th time in the last 19 seasons and 14th time overall Boshamer Stadium will have hosted a regional. It’s the first time Carolina has been named as a host in the NCAA Tournament in consecutive seasons under head coach Scott Forbes, and the first time overall for the program since hosting three consecutive times between 2017 and 2019. UNC has reached at least the Super Regional round in each of the last four instances in which it has hosted a regional.
