The UNC men’s basketball team’s 100-92 victory over No. 10 Tennessee sparked joyous reactions from Tar Heel fans on social media, with some comparing the team’s 61-point first half to great Carolina teams of years past.

Tennessee made a game of it in the second half, cutting the lead to single digits in the final minutes, but could not completely climb the mountain. Carolina won 100-92, with two R.J. Davis free throws securing the Bojangles 100-Point Special for the rowdy crowd in the Smith Center.

Freshman guard Elliot Cadeau’s 10-assist, 0-turnover performance against a tough Volunteer defense quickly drew praise from around the country.

UNC will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts Florida State at 2 p.m.
