Former Orange High School standout Bryse Wilson took the next step of his journey toward the major leagues on Wednesday, when it was announced that he has been promoted from the Double-A Mississippi Braves to the Triple-A Gwinnett Stripers.
Wilson–a 6-foot-1-inch right-hander who was selected out of high school by the Atlanta Braves in the fourth round of the 2016 MLB Draft–has posted a 3-5 record with a 3.97 ERA this season at the Double-A level in Mississippi.
For his career in the minor leagues, he’s gone 16-13 with an ERA of 2.52.
The call-up to Triple-A represents the highest level of pro baseball that the 20-year-old Hillsborough native will have pitched.
Gwinnett’s next scheduled game is Thursday night at home against the Durham Bulls.
