The nation’s top-ranked running back prospect in the Class of 2018–Zamir White out of Scotland County High School in Laurinburg, North Carolina–announced Tuesday he will play out his collegiate career at the University of Georgia.
This comes after he had narrowed down his final five choices to Georgia, Clemson, UNC, Ohio State and Alabama.
White–who was a high school teammate of current Tar Heel linebacker Jonathan Smith–would have been a game-changing recruit for head coach Larry Fedora.
Instead, he’ll head down to Georgia to play for the Bulldogs, who have produced a number of solid NFL running backs in both the past and the present.
That list includes names like Herschel Walker, Todd Gurley, Knowshon Moreno and current star Nick Chubb–a man that ran for over 200 yards against Fedora’s Tar Heels in last year’s season-opener.
