UNC women’s tennis star Fiona Crawley can add another item to her already-full trophy case. Crawley captured the singles title at the ITA All-American Championships in Cary on Sunday, defeating Kylie Collins of LSU 6-3, 6-2 in the final.

Crawley is only the second player in the history of the UNC women’s tennis program to win the ITA singles title. Jamie Loeb won the championship in 2013.

Crawley is undefeated in the fall season at 12-0 and has an overall record of 89-8 in her two-plus seasons with the Tar Heels. The junior from San Antonio is ranked No. 21 in the latest ITA polls, though is likely to rise after her performance in Cary.

In her run to the title, Crawley dropped just one set in five matches this past week. She defeated players from South Carolina and Texas A&M to reach the semifinals, where she faced UNC teammate Carson Tanguilig. Crawley defeated Tanguilig in straight sets. The other semifinal featured Carolina’s Anika Yarlagadda, and the three semifinalists from one program is the most in the event’s nearly 40-year history.

Crawley, Tanguilig and Yarlagadda have clinched spots in the ITA National Fall Championships, which will take place from November 2 through November 6 in San Diego. Crawley and Elizabeth Scotty won the doubles title at that event last year.
