UNC’s Armando Bacot is once again among the best of the best in ACC basketball. The senior center was named to the All-ACC first team for the second consecutive season Monday afternoon, joining Miami’s Isaiah Wong, Wake Forest’s Ty Appleby, Clemson’s Hunter Tyson and Pittsburgh’s Jamarius Burton on the team. Wong was named the ACC Player of the Year.

Bacot ranks among the league’s leaders in scoring (16.5 points per game, seventh), rebounding (10.8 per game, first) and field goal percentage (55.2, fifth). He also ranks ninth in the ACC with 1.1 blocked shots per game.

Earlier this season, Bacot became Carolina’s all-time leader in both double-doubles and rebounds, passing marks set by program legends Billy Cunningham and Tyler Hansbrough, respectively. Bacot received nine votes for ACC Player of the Year, third behind Wong and Appleby. He was second in Player of the Year voting last season.

Fifth-year wing Leaky Black was named to the All-Defensive Team for the second straight season and finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting behind Virginia’s Reece Beekman. Guards Caleb Love and R.J. Davis each earned All-ACC Honorable Mention nods.

The Tar Heels will be back in action on Wednesday when they begin play in the ACC Tournament against either No. 10 seed Boston College or No. 15 seed Louisville.
