The ACC revealed its 2024-25 regular season men’s and women’s basketball schedules on Tuesday night.
Head coach Courtney Banghart and the women’s team will open their ACC schedule on Sunday, December 15 when the Tar Heels host Georgia Tech at Carmichael Arena at 2 p.m. The conference opener comes between non-conference matchups with UNC-Greensboro in Chapel Hill on December 11 and Florida at the Jumpman Invitational in Charlotte on December 18.
Conference play begins in earnest on December 29, when Carolina visits Miami. The Tar Heels return home to face Notre Dame on January 5 before the first of two meetings with Duke on January 9 in Chapel Hill. In the new 18-team ACC, the Blue Devils are the only opponent UNC faces twice, with the matchup in Durham scheduled for February 27. In a break with tradition, Carolina won’t close out the regular season by facing Duke. Instead, the Tar Heels end the regular season at home on March 2 against Virginia.
Other notable dates on the schedule include visits to all three ACC debutantes: SMU (January 16), Cal (January 30) and Stanford (February 2). Carolina’s only regular-season contest against NC State is scheduled for February 16 in Chapel Hill.

The men’s team opens ACC play on Saturday, December 7 against Georgia Tech at the Dean Smith Center. The Tar Heels won’t play another conference game until New Year’s Day, when UNC visits Louisville. Carolina won’t have to travel west to face any of the league’s new members, as SMU (January 7), Cal (January 15) and Stanford (January 18) will all visit the Smith Center.
Carolina has two games each against Pittsburgh, NC State and Duke. In a scheduling quirk, the Tar Heels play the Panthers twice within the span of three games: first in Pittsburgh on January 28 and then again in Chapel Hill on February 8.
The first game against NC State is scheduled for January 11 in Raleigh, with the return trip to the Smith Center set for February 19. The first game against Duke is scheduled for February 1 in Durham, and the Blue Devils will come to Chapel Hill to close out the regular season on March 8.
Other notable dates include a visit to Wake Forest on January 21, a trip to Clemson on February 10 and a home matchup with Virginia on February 22.
