Several weather advisories have been issued for Orange County as severe weather has been moving across central North Carolina.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 3:45 p.m. Thursday. Meanwhile, continuing threats of rain throughout the evening have prompted a Flash Flood Warning until 6:30 p.m. and a Flash Flood Watch until 8 p.m. Friday, August 3.

The National Weather Service issued the warnings as a large storm system developed throughout the afternoon on Thursday.

Reports from Chapel Hill and residents in southern Orange County have reported flooding issues in some of the flood-prone areas of the county.
