Former IBM executive and dean of the Kenan-Flagler Business School Paul Rizzo passed away on Thursday.

Rizzo attended UNC and played football for the Tar Heels.

Rizzo served on the UNC Board of Governors, among his service on many other boards, after his retirement from IBM.

Kenan-Flagler’s Paul J. Rizzo Conference Center at Meadowmont was named in his honor.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10 o’clock on Thursday, March 16 at Chapel of the Cross.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the UNC Lineberger Cancer Center or the James Spurling Football Scholarship Fund at UNC.

Rizzo was 89.
