CHAPEL HILL – Reggie Bullock is about to embark on his NBA Career with the Draft set for Thursday at 7 p.m. The versatile shooting guard/small forward will be joining an elite and accomplished club of Carolina greats to make the jump to the big league.
ESPN writer Eamonn Brennan did a series called “Path To The Draft,” profiling the top 20 schools and the best pros they’ve produced in the modern draft era (since 1989, when the draft went from seven to two rounds). Sitting at No. 1 on that list is Carolina. Brennan lists the top five UNC draftees as Vince Carter (1998) in the first spot, followed by Antawn Jamison (1998), Rasheed Wallace (1995), Jerry Stackhouse (1995) and Ty Lawson (2009) rounding out the list.
Though Bullock won’t likely go early in the first round, reports say interest in the former Tar Heel has risen tremendously. Bullock showed improvement in NBA workouts, and has moved up from the original projection of being picked somewhere in the second round to the middle-to-late first round. Mock drafts list excellent size, solid perimeter game, and ability to impact every multiple stat line as his strengths. During his junior campaign at UNC, he averaged 13.9 points on 48 percent shooting, sinking 43.6 percent of his three-point attempts.
CBS Sports has Bullock going to the Chicago Bulls in the 20th spot, or the Utah Jazz as the 21st pick.
