Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools has appointed Jordi Roman as the new principal of Carrboro Elementary School. CHCCS made the announcement official in a release on Monday.

“I am thrilled to join the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools district and the Carrboro Elementary community,” Roman said. “Together, we’ll celebrate diversity and inspire excellence in every child. Our journey ahead is filled with endless possibilities, and I can’t wait to partner with our staff and families to continue to create a warm and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive and shine.”

A multilingual instructor with fluency in Spanish and intermediate proficiency in Italian, Roman most recently served as the Executive Director of Family Engagement and Partnerships with Rowan-Salisbury Schools. He has also served as principal at Donna Lee Loflin Elementary in Asheboro and worked as a consultant for the North Carolina Teacher Academy. Roman has two master’s degrees, one of which came in School Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Families and students will have two opportunities to meet Roman at Carrboro Elementary before the new school year begins: Tuesday, July 9 (5 p.m. in English, 6:30 p.m. in Spanish) and Tuesday, July 16 (5 p.m. in Spanish, 6:30 p.m. in English).
