Located on Old Mason Farm Road just off 15/501, the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill offers a home away from home for the families of children receiving treatment at UNC Hospitals.

Many of those families have driven across the state – and for those families, the stress of having to find and pay for food and housing can be as great as the stress from the treatment itself. Chapel Hill’s Ronald McDonald House (one of many located around the country and the world) helps ease that enormous burden. With 53 guest rooms – including 24 that were added in 2015 – the house serves more than 3,000 families every year.

On Sunday, October 16, the RMH is hosting “A Tasteful Affair,” its biggest annual fundraiser, from 6-8 pm at the Blue Zone in Kenan Stadium. Attendees will be able to sample food from more than two dozen of the area’s best restaurants, food trucks, and beverage providers; there will also be a raffle and a silent auction, all to raise funds to support the Ronald McDonald House.

RMH special events director Elizabeth Hullender joined Aaron Keck on WCHL this week to discuss “A Tasteful Affair.”
