Two sections of Riverwalk in Hillsborough will be closed on Monday while contractors remove dead and damaged tree limbs that may threaten the safety of local hikers.

Thinning operations will commence at 8:00 AM between the trail connection on Fairbault Lane and the Eno River Parking Deck on Nash and Kollock Street.

Work will continue later that afternoon between the trail connection on South Cameron Street and the Historic Occoneechee Speedway Trailhead on Elizabeth Brady Road.

Residents are encouraged to contact Stephanie Trueblood, the municipal public space manager, at 919-296-9481 for additional information.
