Construction crews will begin installing fiber optic cable in downtown Chapel Hill on Monday night.

Town officials said in a release that JBL Fiber Construction Company will be working to install the lines on Franklin Street.

The bulk of the work is scheduled to be carried out overnight between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. through completion of the project, which is projected at January 29.

When work is in front of Walkers Funeral Home on Franklin Street, which is nearing residences at 140 West Franklin and Carolina Square, the work will shift to daytime hours between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
