This week in local government, the Chapel Hill Town Council opens legislative hearings on a trio of proposed developments, including one along Weaver Dairy Road that could add 700 residential units. Also, Orange County Commissioners will meet jointly with the county’s two school boards for conversations on a wide range of issues, and the Hillsborough town board will consider ways to help a local organization whose efforts in the Fairview community are being threatened by federal budget cuts.
