This week, the Chapel Hill and Carrboro Town Councils are meeting separately to discuss federal COVID relief funds; the Chapel Hill town board is meeting on Monday instead of their regular Wednesday time. Orange County Commissioners are holding their own meeting on Tuesday, with an agenda that includes a historic resolution on a long-simmering issue.

Here’s a rundown of local government meetings this week in Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties.

Orange County

The Chapel Hill Town Council is meeting on Monday, September 19 (rescheduled from Wednesday the 21st) at 6:30 p.m. in Meeting Room B of the Chapel Hill Public Library. Only one agenda item: council members will review applications from prospective Community Partners as part of the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). Click here for the full agenda.

The Carrboro Town Council will also be discussing the use of ARPA funds at their work session Tuesday, September 20, at 7:00 p.m. in Town Hall. Get a link to the full agenda here.

Orange County Commissioners also meet on Tuesday, September 20, at 7:00 p.m. in the Whitted Building in Hillsborough. In Durham, the City Council has two scheduled meetings this week.
