Local government season kicks into high gear this week: for the first time since the spring, most elected boards have scheduled meetings on their respective calendars. Among the highlights: the Orange County school board will continue the (controversial) process of selecting a new superintendent; the Chapel Hill Town Council will consider a proposed 212-unit apartment building in the Blue Hill district; and the Pittsboro town board may vote to change the mayor’s term from two years to four.
Here’s a rundown of local government meetings this week in Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties.
