Because it’s Thanksgiving week, the local government calendar is extremely light: in fact, there are no meetings at all scheduled in Orange County. But the Durham City Council is busy as ever, packing two meetings into a two-day period, and Chatham County Commissioners will also have a long day of meetings on Monday.
Here’s a rundown of local government meetings this week in Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties.
Chatham and Durham Counties
The Chatham County Board of Commissioners meets Monday, November 21, in the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center. First, commissioners will hold a work session at 3 p.m.; agenda items include a budget update and a discussion of a joint land use plan with the town of Cary. Then the board will reconvene at 6 p.m. with an agenda that includes a public hearing on the county’s capital improvements plan for 2024-2030. Click here for a link to the full agenda.
And the Durham City Council has a pair of meetings this week. Their regular meeting will be Monday, November 21, at 7 p.m., then council members will reconvene for a work session at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22. Monday’s agenda includes a vote on redistricting council wards; Tuesday’s work session includes reports on crime in Durham as well as the city’s budget. Click here for links to both meeting agendas.
