Pittsboro has the spotlight this week in local government, as the town board meets Monday with three large items on their agenda. One is a climate action plan for the town, while the other two relate to large-scale development: the board will vote to approve a Small Area Plan for South Village, a 5,000-acre portion of Chatham Park, as well as a plan for mixed-use development at Reeves Farm, on 500 acres of land along Route 64 West. Orange County Commissioners also discuss long-term land use plans this week, while Carrboro electeds continue the process of developing a unified development ordinance – though recent action at the state level may shift the path.

Here’s a rundown of local government meetings this week in Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties.
