Margaret Cannell, the Executive Director of the Hillsborough and Orange County Chamber of Commerce, has stepped down from her position, effectively immediately.
Assistant at the chamber, Cindy Mihok, has also stepped down from her position.
When reached for comment regarding Cannell’s and Mihok’s simultaneous resignations, Board President, Jason Richmond, responded with:
“Yes, today Margaret and Cindy have stepped down from their positions at the Chamber. We are appreciative of their service and wish them well. We have a plan to move the chamber through this transition, including communicating with all members and stakeholders. We will name our interim executive director very shortly.”
The board will reconvene June 17th to begin the search process for a new executive director. Following the meeting, the board plans to have a better understanding of the time they will have to find a new member. They hope to have a new executive director by the start of 2015.
As of June 9th, Betsy Crittenden has taken over the executive director position until further notice. She will serve until the board decides upon a new leader.
