Six nominees have been selected from a campus-wide pool of faculty and staff at UNC-Chapel Hill to receive the C. Knox Massey Distinguished Service Award.

The winners comprise a diverse group that represents nearly every operational facet of the university, from undergraduate teaching to information technology.

Each member of that group will receive a stipend of $10,000 from the Massey-Weatherspoon Fund, which was established by C. Knox Massey in 1984.

Massey was an advertising mogul who intended for his award to recognize “unusual, meritorious or superior contributions” from employees at UNC-Chapel Hill.

According to Chancellor Carol Folt, the honorees are worthy of that recognition as “exemplary people” who “put the heart and soul into what it means to serve others.”

An awards luncheon was recently hosted by Folt for Allison Legge, San San Lwin, Delmazine McAdoo, Sherry Salyer, Dave Stevens and Charles Streeter.
