Currently, Valerie Foushee (D) represents District 23 in the North Carolina Senate. With Foushee seeking election to the U.S. House of Representatives, Graig Meyer (D) and Landon Woods (R) are both running to claim the District 23 seat. While it previously covered Orange and Chatham counties, the district now represents Orange, Caswell and Person counties in the state senate.
