During this local election season, 97.9 The Hill and Chapelboro spoke with candidates for races representing Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Hillsborough. Each answered the same set of questions regarding their decision to run for elected office, their background in the community and what they wish for residents to think of when voting this fall. Currently, Valerie Foushee (D) represents District 23 in the North Carolina Senate. With Foushee seeking election to the U.S. House of Representatives, Graig Meyer (D) and Landon Woods (R) are both running to claim the District 23 seat. While it previously covered Orange and Chatham counties, the district now represents Orange, Caswell and Person counties in the state senate.
